A student once asked, “If I’m on vacation and feeling totally relaxed, should I still meditate?”. I responded by with a question of my own, “Are you still planning on brushing your teeth while you’re away?”. Your meditation practice is hygienic. By settling your mind down to its least excited state and resting your body profoundly deep, you rid your body of decades of accumulated stress. Like brushing your teeth, you feel better and fresher after every time you do it. It’s absolutely worth doing every day…(twice).
On vacation, it may actually become more difficult to meditate because we loose our normal routine. Continue to plan your daily meditation sessions and they’re more likely to happen.
